The UK Satellite TV website is dedicated to the reception of UK & European free and subscription* channels via satellite. While digital terrestial transmissions (Freeview) can only be received in certain parts of the UK, satellite transmissions (Freesat*, Sky* and European free-to-air and subscription* channels) can be received over the whole of the UK and Europe too. Although many of the UK channels are broadcast on the Sky platform, you do not necessarily need a Sky subscription to receive them. Most of the mainstream UK channels are now free-to-air (unencrypted) and can be legally received throughout Europe with a suitably sized dish for the reception area and a suitable satellite receiver.
Many people in the UK are becoming aware of the vast range of alternative satellite programming available from satellites other than Astra 2, the main UK satellite. Satellites such as Astra 1 and Hotbird provide a huge range of adult, sport and foreign language channels; reception of these channels is not expensive or difficult - with patience and the right information you can even install the equipment yourself.

All the Sky satellite receivers in our shop are unsubsidised, meaning that they can be registered to any Freesat or Sky subscription card or used purely as a free-to-air receiver. Some of the best Sky receivers for free-to-air reception abroad are no longer made, but are available on this site as guaranteed units.
