This kit provides all the equipment and cable required to connect additional Sky or Freesat receivers to your Sky minidish. No special tools are required.
It includes the following items:
1 - Octo output (8 way) LNB to suit the standard Sky minidish
1 - 100m roll of black or white 7mm satellite cable . Please contact us if your require a different cable type (eg 'Sky Plus' twin core type cable), or a mixture of cable types
3 - packs of 100 cable clips to suit
16 - F connectors
8 - strips of self amalgamating tape, to waterproof the LNB connections
3 - cable ties
Instructions on replacing an LNB and fitting the F connectors are included.
The octo LNBs are commonly retro-fitted to a Sky minidish in order to provide up to eight independent outputs. This allows connection of up to four PVR type receivers - such as Sky Plus or the Freesat Plus - or up to eight standard receivers (or a mixture of both). When connecting multiple receivers (or a PVR type receiver) to a satellite dish, the cable cannot simply be split - a twin, quad or octo LNB must be used.
Identify the correct type of LNB for your dish
To check that the LNB we supply will fit your Sky dish, you should measure the outer cross section of the dish arm that supports the LNB (see photo below). The majority of dish arms are a closed box section and will measure approximately 30mm wide x 20mm high.
If you are fitting an LNB to a minidish supplied after 2009, your dish arm may be a channel section, rather than a closed box section. The dish arm is an inverted 'U' shape (measuring approximately 27mm x 20mm).
The LNB supplied will fit either of the two types of dish arm above. However, a small number of dishes may have a dish arm that measures 25mm wide x 12mm high. We cannot supply an LNB that matches this arm, and to upgrade to an octo LNB you will need to purchase a new dish.
